Hehnke Earns Academic All-Summit Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. – Junior pitcher Cal Hehnke earned his first-career Summit League All-Academic Team recognition, as announced Wednesday.
The right-handed pitcher from Grand Island, Neb., made 20 mound appearances with four starts on the season, and ranked fourth overall in the league with a 3.86 ERA. He also tallied a team-leading 58 strikeouts and recorded a season-high of five strikeouts in a game on four different occasions.
Hehnke also garnered Summit League Pitcher of the Week honors on April 23, where he totaled eight innings pitched in relief across three games with no runs allowed, just two hits, nine strikeouts and one walk. He also earned a save in the team's first win over Nebraska since 1997.
A civil engineering major, Hehnke currently holds a 3.53 cumulative GPA.
