Mavericks 11th After Day One at Missouri State

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Senior Jordan York led the Omaha women's golf team on the first day of play at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial on Monday at Missouri State.
York shot rounds of 75 and 76 for a total of 151, finishing the first 36 holes of the tournament in a tie for 21st place in the field of 98 golfers.
The Mavericks are in 11th place, shooting team rounds of 312 and 316 for a total of 628 at the Twin Oaks Country Club. Memphis and UTEP are tied for the team lead with matching scores of 579. Murray State is third at 592.
Freshman Zora Gittens is second for the Mavericks and tied for 51st overall with a score of 157 that included rounds of 77 and 80. Hannah Hunke is third on the team after scores of 83 and 78 put her at 161 for the tournament. She's tied for 66th.
Samantha Chong shot 77 and 86 for a total of 163 that has her in a tie for 72nd. She's two strokes ahead of Mandy Boyle who is at 165 after shooting 83 and 82. She is in 79th place.
Sami Langford, playing as an individual, fired a score of 167 that featured rounds of 83 and 84.
The final round begins Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
