OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's golf team plays its fourth event in as many weeks when it takes part in the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate at Arkansas State on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 14-15.
The Mavericks will be one of 13 teams in the 54-hole tournament being played at the RidgePoint Country Club. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 more on Tuesday beginning at 8:15 a.m. each day.
Omaha is coming off a record-setting performance at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational last week. The Mavericks shot a 54-hole team score of 848, a new school record.
Senior Witchayapat Sinsrang, led the way, tying Kevin Gordon's school record with a 54-hole total score of 206. He tied for fifth in the 72-player event.
Nick Kagy finished with a total of 212, good for 19th. He was three strokes ahead of teammate Phoomintr Kaewvichien who shot a total of 215 to tie for 26th.
Josh Peters closed with a total of 217 for the event to tie for 37th, and Josh Bartels had a final score of 222, good for 55th place.
All five Mavericks shot career best 54-hole scores over the two-day event.
Following play at Arkansas State, Omaha finishes the fall season at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate hosted by Old Dominion on Sunday – Tuesday, Oct. 20-22.
