Mavericks Run at Bradley This Week

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha cross country team is back in action on Friday, Oct. 18 when it competes in the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Ill.
The event is divided into two races with the Mavericks running in the "Red" race at 3:15 p.m.
The Mavericks last ran two weeks ago at the Joe Piane Invitational at Notre Dame. In that meet, five different runners registered lifetime bests for 5K.
Junior Emily Johnson, who will take aim at the school's 6K record this week, reset her own 5K best with a time of 17:29.49 in the Gold Race. She finished 17th in the field of 193 runners.
Heidi Hall ran second for the Mavericks and also hit a lifetime cross country 5K best with a time of 18:01.53, good for 46th place.
Joanna Topham was 143rd, clocking a best of 19:08.54. She was three places ahead of Anita Jenkins who was fourth on the team in a time of 19:11.25.
Ivanna Uribe completed the scoring for the Mavericks with a time of 19:22.56, putting her in 153rd place.
Also competing in the Gold race were Raegan Andersen (19:41.92/165), Maya Nachtigal (PR/19:53.18/168) and Paige Blackford (20:46.62/182).
Danielle Howard, running in the open race, clocked a time of 20:06.22, also a lifetime best.
The meet at Bradley will be the Mavericks' last tune up before competing in the Summit League Championships at Fargo, N.D. on Saturday, Nov. 2.
