Women's Tennis Releases 2020 Spring Schedule

OMAHA, Neb. – Director of Tennis Adam Summitt announced the 2020 spring schedule Monday afternoon.
The 2020 slate features eight matches at home, six on the road and eight at neutral sites. Â
"I am excited about this upcoming season," said Summitt. "If we stay healthy and continue our development, we can expect good things to happen. We have good, competitive matchups throughout the season. There are no easy matches, especially in The Summit League. Every team continues to get better. This will be the most challenging year in the league since I've been here."

The Mavericks open the season with a pair of matches in Des Moines, Iowa, against Northern Iowa and Iowa State Jan. 25-26. Omaha follows with its home-opener Feb. 1 against Valparaiso. After a week off, Omaha continues its home slate with a pair of matches at home Feb. 8-9 against Saint Louis and Northern Illinois.

Two road matches in Kansas City, Mo., follow with Rockhurst and Kansas City on Feb. 15. The Mavericks stay on the road and travel to Springfield, Mo., where they take on Missouri State Feb. 21 and Central Arkansas Feb. 22. Omaha returns for an in-town rivalry match at Creighton Friday evening, Feb. 28. Two days later on March 1, the Mavericks have a home match against Northern Colorado.

Five opponents in three different states follow, as the team begins with a two-match slate at Chicago State and against Green Bay in Chicago, Ill., March 6-7. On Sunday, March 8, Omaha takes on UIC in Griffith, Ind., at 10 a.m.

The Mavericks go down to Orlando, Fla., for two matches against Hope College (March 19) and DePaul (March 23), before heading back home for their Summit League opener at home. Omaha plays host to Western Illinois on Saturday, March 28, and closes the non-conference slate the following day, March 29, against Drake at home.

Friday, April 3, Omaha takes on South Dakota in league action on the road, followed by an April 11 trip to North Dakota for more Summit League play. The final league matches take place in Omaha, as the Mavericks play host to Oral Roberts on Saturday, April 18, and Denver Sunday, April 19.
