Mavericks Gear Up For Notre Dame Meet

OMAHA, Neb. — After taking a week off, the Omaha cross country team is back in action this weekend competing in the 64th Annual Joe Piane-Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Oct. 4.
The Mavericks are set to run in the Women's Gold Division race at Notre Dame's Burker Golf Course. The race begins at 2:15 p.m. CT.
Omaha wrapped up its second meet of the season on Sept. 21 at the Greeno/Dirksen Invite hosted by Nebraska, finishing 10th overall.
Sophomore Heidi Hall led the Mavericks, running a time of 18:53.6 over the 5k course. She placed 35th overall.
Coming in second on the team was junior Joanna Topham who finished 59th in the field of 184 runners. She ran a time of 19:34.6. Ivanna Uribe took third behind Topham, running a 19:53.0 in the 5k and placed 77th overall.
Raegan Anderson ran a time of 20:00.3 placing fourth for the Mavericks and 80th overall. Senior Anita Jenkins followed finishing 82nd in the field with a time of 20:02.0.
Also running for Omaha were freshman Maya Nachtigal and sophomore Emily Robles. Nachtigal completed the race with a time of 20:27.2, placing 101st, while Robles took 112th overall with a time of 20:33.0.
Following Friday's meet, the Mavericks take two weeks off to prepare for the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Ill on Friday, Oct. 18.
