COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Omaha hockey forward Kevin Conley has been named the Bauer NCHC Forward of the Week.
It's the third straight week and the fourth time in the last five weeks that a Maverick has picked up one of the conference's weekly awards.
Conley led the Mavericks in scoring during their split at No. 20 Western Michigan last week. On Friday, the junior was scoreless and had two blocked shots in Omaha's 3-2 loss to the Broncos.
The next night, the native of Wausau, Wis. registered his first career hat trick over the first two periods and added an assist as the Mavericks picked up their first NCHC win of the year, 6-3. He earned his three goals on four shots and was +3 for the game.
Conley's big night moved him into the team scoring lead with 11 points, just two from tying his career high for points in a season.
The Mavericks return home to host Miami on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22-23. Both games begin at 7:07 p.m.
