Spring Starts in Georgia For Mavericks

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's golf team kicks off its spring season at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor hosted by William and Mary on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 16-17.
The 54-hole event begins with two rounds on Saturday and concludes with 18 holes on Sunday. Play begins at 7 a.m. CT both days from The Club at Savannah Harbor in Georgia. The Mavericks will be one of 18 teams in the field.
Omaha, which was picked to finish sixth in the Summit League preseason coaches' poll, will be led by junior Witchayapat Sinsrang. He is the Mavericks' leading returning scorer from the fall with a stroke average of 73.4. He shot the Mavericks' lowest round of the fall when he carded a 65 in the third round of the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate in October.
Overall, Sinsrang had two top-10 finishes in four fall tournaments.
Senior Cole Christain is next in team scoring with a stroke average of 75.8 followed by junior Nick Kagy (76.8), Jonah Wright (76.8) and Thirawat Chantrakantanond (77.3). All but Wright will be competing in Savannah. In addition, freshman Kellen Rossman will make his collegiate debut.
Following the tournament, the Mavericks will be off until March 4-5 when they head west to compete in the Sacramento State Invitational.
