Kinney Garners Summit League Pitcher of the Week Honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Summit League office announced senior right-hander Payton Kinney as Pitcher of the Week Monday, Feb. 25.
The award marks his second-career weekly honor.
Over the four-game series in Seattle, the Mavericks went 2-2 with Kinney pitching in the second game. The senior improved to 2-0 as a starter this season after he pitched 5.0 innings with eight strikeouts and a 1.80 ERA in the team's 3-2 win.
Thus far, Kinney leads the team with a 2.00 ERA that ranks fifth in the league. He also has 10 strikeouts on 9.00 innings pitched.
The Mavericks continue on the road with a three-game series at Savannah State Friday, March 1, through Sunday, March 3. Links to follow will be available on OMavs.com.
