AZUSA, Calif. – The Omaha track & field team notched a handful of personal bests on the second day of competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific on Friday.

Lauren Houston led the way on the track with a lifetime best of 2:09.44 in the 800 meters. Her time is the third-fastest time in the event in school history.

Brekk Flax put up a wind-aided time of 12.62 in the 100 meters to lead the Mavericks. Erinoelle Clifton was right behind at 12.85, a new personal best.

In the 200 meters, Scarlett Hill paced the team with a season-best clocking of 26.10. Clifton came in at 26.18, another personal best. Flax was next at 26.29, just off her season best, and Sophia Kirwan put up a lifetime best of 26.49.

Emily Johnson led a trio of Mavericks in the 1,500 meters, running a season-best time of 4:54.75. Anita Jenkins was next with a time of 4:55.49, and Annie Catania was just behind her in a time of 4:57.36.

In the field, Anna Edet stood out with a new personal best in the shot put, throwing 42-07 ½. It was more than a foot farther than her previous best from her sophomore season.

The Mavericks come back to the Midwest next week, competing in two meets in Iowa. They'll be at the Drake Relays on April 25-27 and also take part in the Kip Janvrin Open at Simpson College on April 25-26.
