Mavericks Tied For Sixth After First 18 at Summit Championship

NEWTON, Kan. – The Omaha women's golf team is tied with North Dakota State for sixth place after the first round of the Summit League Championship.
The Mavericks shot a team score of 328 over the first 18 holes at the Sand Creek Station Golf Club. South Dakota State leads with a score of 321. Denver is second, just one stroke back, and South Dakota is third at 323.
Zora Gittens and Hannah Hunke led the team in scoring on day one with matching scores of 80, putting them in a tie for ninth in the field of 45 players.
Mandy Boyle shot 81 to put her third on the team and in a tie for 12th. Jordan York is fourth in team scoring and is tied for 38th after carding a round of 87.
Sami Langford shot 90 on Sunday to put her in a tie for 43rd.
The second round of the 54-hole event begins at 9 a.m. on Monday.
