Sinsrang Named To All-Summit Team
Apr 27, 2019 | Men's Golf
NEWTON, Kan. – Omaha junior Witchayapat Sinsrang was named to the Summit League All-League Second Team on Saturday.
The announcement was made at the tournament banquet which precedes the Summit League Men's Golf Championship at Sand Creek Station Golf Club.
Sinsrang, a junior college transfer from Dodge City Community College, leads the Mavericks in scoring and ranks fourth in the Summit League with a stroke average of 73.2.
A finalist for UNO Athletics' Male Newcomer of the Year Award, Sinsrang set a school record in October with a round of 65 at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate in North Carolina. It is the lowest round shot by a men's golfer in school history.
The ODU tournament was one of two top-10 finishes for Sinsrang this season.
Sinsrang, a native of Thailand, is one of just two Mavericks ever named Summit all-league, following Karl Krieser who earned a second team nod in 2014.
The Mavericks begin the Summit League Championship with round one of Sunday at 8 a.m.
