Omaha Clinches 2019 Summit League Regular-Season Crown
May 16, 2019 | Baseball
OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha baseball team clinched the 2019 Summit League regular-season championship Thursday with a 13-3 win over Oral Roberts and North Dakota State's 3-2 win against South Dakota State.
The regular-season crown marks Omaha's third of the Division I era, joining the 2013 and 2014 teams, who were ineligible to advance to postseason play due to Omaha's reclassification to NCAA Division I.
For the first time in program history, the Mavericks will be the No. 1 seed entering The Summit League Championship, which takes place May 22-25 in Tulsa, Okla. They will play host to next year's league tournament in Omaha.
Omaha returns to action tomorrow at 2 p.m. against Oral Roberts at Seymour Smith Park. For more information, visit OMavs.com.
