Hahn Signs First Pro Contract With Germany's Kirchheim Knights

OMAHA, Neb. -- Former Omaha men's basketball player Mitch Hahn has signed his first professional contract and will begin his playing career with the VfL Kirchheim Knights in Kirchheim unter Teck, Germany, it was announced this week. Kirchheim plays in the ProA league, the second-tier level of professional club basketball in Germany.
"I couldn't be more excited to start my professional career in Germany," Hahn said. "I've had such great support from family, friends and the Omaha community, which has made this transition much easier for me. I can't thank the Omaha coaching staff enough for the help and support they've given me as I take this next big step."

A forward and a two-year captain from Fremont, Neb., Hahn was a first-team All-Summit pick in 2018-19. He started every game for the Mavericks and averaged 13.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game while shooting .468 from the field. Hahn finished his senior campaign with 24 double-figure scoring performances and four double-doubles.

"As one of our seniors last season, Mitch led us to a very successful season," head coach Derrin Hansen said. "Without him and his leadership, we wouldn't have been the team that we were. We're very proud of what Mitch has achieved and look forward to seeing his continued growth as a professional."

Hahn will join his Kirchheim club next week. He graduated with his bachelor's degree in marketing from Omaha in May 2019.
