Mavericks Travel To Drake Next Week

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's golf team is back in action at the Zach Johnson Invitational hosted by Drake on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
The Mavericks are one of 12 teams playing 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday at the Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines, Iowa. Play begins each day at 8 a.m.
Omaha began the fall season with an 11th-place finish at the Derek Dolenc Invitational hosted by SIUE on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
The Mavericks posted a team total of 887 at the Gateway National Golf Links.

Witchayapat Sinsrang led the Mavericks with a score of 215. He finished two over for the tournament and tied for 13th place in the field of 99 golfers.
Freshman Josh Bartels was second on the team and tied for 29th with a six-over total of 219. Nick Kagy tied for 41st overall with a score of 223.
Freshman Josh Peters was fourth on the team and tied for 76th overall after shooting a total of 232. Phoomintr Kaewvichien completed the team scoring for the Mavericks with a final score of 239.
The Mavericks continue a busy stretch with their third tournament of four in four weeks when they travel to Colorado to play in the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational. The 54-hole event will be played on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 7-8 in Boulder, Colo.
