OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's golf team returns to action at home this week, hosting the Maverick Invitational at The Creek on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 12-13.
The tournament features 27 holes each day beginning at 8:30 at The Club at Indian Creek in Elkhorn, Neb.
The Mavericks took fifth place at their first tournament of the fall, the Zach Johnson Invitational hosted by Drake two weeks ago, shooting a team score of 934.
Junior transfer Mathew Halvorson led the Mavericks in scoring with a three-round total of 229. He finished in 12th place overall.
Josh Peters was second on the team and tied for 17th overall with a final score of 233. His fellow sophomore, Josh Bartels, tied for 27th after posting a score of 240.
Freshman Jacob Zerby was fourth on the team, shooting 241 to put him in a tie for 31st. Noah Hartman completed the team scoring with a total of 242.
Freshman Carter Doose, playing as an individual, shot a total score of 254.
This week's event is currently scheduled to be the last of the fall for the Mavericks.
