OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's golf team kicks off its spring season at The Joust at Goose Creek hosted by California Baptist on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 24-25.
The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday from the Goose Creek Golf Club in St. Jurupa Valley, Calif. Play begins each day at 10 a.m. CT.
This is the first of six tournaments for the Mavericks in the spring season leading up to the Summit League Championship on May 3-5 in Newton, Kan. That schedule includes The Stampede at the Creek which the Mavericks will host in Omaha on April 6-7.
The Mavericks enter the spring season picked to finish fifth in the Summit preseason coaches' poll.
Senior Witchayapat Sinsrang ranks fourth in the Summit League in scoring, posting a 71.7 stroke average in five events during the fall. Senior Nick Kagy is second in team scoring with a stroke average of 72.8, and freshmen Josh Peters and Josh Bartels rank 3-4 at 75.1 and 75.9, respectively.
Following play at California Baptist, the Mavericks will return to the Golden State on Monday and Tuesday, March 2-3, to play in the Sacramento State Invitational.
