OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's golf team returns to California to play in the Sacramento State Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, March 2-3.
The Mavericks will be one of 10 teams playing 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday at the Valley Hi Country Club in Sacramento. Play begins with a shotgun start each day at 10:30 a.m. CT.
Omaha is coming off one of its most successful tournaments of the Division I era. The Mavericks won The Joust at Goose Creek hosted by California Baptist on Tuesday to open the spring season. UNO posted a team score of 870 to top the 13-team field. The Mavericks won by nine strokes over runner up Cal Poly.
Senior Witchayapat Sinsrang was the individual medalist in the tournament, finishing with a two-under total of 208 for 54 holes. For his efforts, Sinsrang was named the Summit League's Co-Golfer of the Week, his first honor and the first for a Maverick since March of 2016.
Freshman Josh Peters also finished in the top 10, tying for ninth with a score of 218.
Following play at Sacramento State, the Mavericks will head to the desert southwest to take part in the Grand Canyon Invitational on Friday and Saturday, March 13-14.
