Dargy Garners All-District Recognition

OMAHA, Neb. ā Senior Emma Dargy was named to the 2020 Academic All-District 7 Softball First Team on Thursday, it was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The team was selected by a vote of sports information directors whose institutions are located within CoSIDA District 7, which includes the states of Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas.

With the selection, Dargy now advances to the Academic All-America ballot and will be considered for national accolades next month. The La Vista, Neb., native becomes the first Maverick chosen to the All-District 7 First Team since Omaha landed a pair of players on the team in 2016.

Dargy carries a 3.97 grade-point average with a major in computer science. She is a member of the UNO Dean's List, the Summit League's Academic Honor Roll and Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence and is an Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete.

"Emma has shown her dedication in the classroom, on the field and in the community throughout her four years at Omaha," said head coach Amanda Eberhart. "It's great to see her earn the recognition after all of the hard work she has put in."

In her senior campaign, Dargy hit .309 with seven homers and 23 RBI while starting all 24 games for the Mavericks. Dargy opened the season by winning Summit League Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks.
