KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches released its 2019-20 NABC Honors Court Wednesday, and the list includes Omaha men's basketball student-athletes Matt Pile, Zach Thornhill and Hayden Miller. It marks the first Honors Court award for all three Mavericks.
Pile carries a 3.94 grade-point average with a major in chemistry. The Wichita, Kan., native is a two-time Academic All-American, a two-time Academic All-Summit selection and a member of the Summit League's Academic Honor Roll and Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence. He also has been named to the UNO Chancellor's List and Dean's List.
Thornhill, who hails from Lenexa, Kan., has a 3.78 GPA in management information systems. He is a member of the Summit League's Academic Honor Roll and Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence and the UNO Dean's List.
Miller, from Nebraska City, Neb., carries a 3.63 GPA with a major in criminology and criminal justice. He is a member of the Summit League's Academic Honor Roll and Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence and the UNO Dean's List.
In order to be named to the annual Honors Court, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior academically, hold a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher and have matriculated at least one year at his current institution.
