ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Former Omaha defenseman Ryan Jones has signed a professional contract with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League, the club announced on Wednesday.
Jones completed a four-year career with the Mavericks in 2019-20. The native of Crown Point, Ind. appeared in 141 games, earning four goals and 38 assists for 42 points. He also earned 162 career penalty minutes.
Jones had a career-high two goals and added nine assists for 11 points during his senior season during which he served as an alternate captain.
Jones was orginally a fourth-round pick, 121st overall, of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. The Americans are the top developmental team of the Buffalo Sabres.
