CLEVELAND, Ohio – Former Omaha forward Zach Jordan has joined the professional ranks, signing an American Hockey League contract with the Cleveland Monsters last Friday.
Jordan completed his UNO career in the spring, posting 12 goals and four assists for 16 points in 35 games to finish in a tie for second on the team in goals.
The native of Collinsville, Ill. finished his Maverick career with 38 goals and 34 assists for 72 points in 128 career games. In that time, he also finished with 11 power play goals and four game winning goals.
Jordan is the third recent senior to sign his first professional contract. Ryan Jones signed with the AHL's Rochester Americans on Aug. 26, and Teemu Pulkkinen signed with a team in his native Finland in April.
