Mountjoy Garners Defensive Player of the Week Honor

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Senior Claire Mountjoy was named Summit League Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
"Claire is playing at a high level," said head coach Matt Buttermore. "She's been working very hard all year on all areas of her game, so it's exciting to see her dedication pay off in complete performances against two great programs."
Mountjoy picked up her second career weekly accolade after totaling 36 digs and averaging 5.14 digs per set last weekend.
The Omaha native tallied 19 digs at Creighton in the season opener while collecting 17 digs and three aces in the victory over UNI on Saturday.
The Mavericks begin Summit League action this weekend at Denver. Omaha is set to play the Pioneers on Sunday, Jan. 31 at 4 p.m. and on Monday, Feb. 1 at 3 p.m.
