Mavericks Crack Top 10 Ahead of LIU Series

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha hockey team, idle last week and riding a five-game winning streak, has entered the top 10 as it prepares for its nonconference series with Long Island at Baxter Arena.
The Mavericks (5-1), off to their best start since the 2015-16 team opened at 6-0, moved up one spot to No. 10 in the USCHO.com rankings and two spots to No. 9 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.
Six teams from the National Collegiate Hockey Conference are rated this week. All of them sit within the top 13 teams in the USCHO.com poll and the top 12 of the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine rankings.
Omaha is coming off a bye week and will face Long Island (2-3) on Friday and Saturday at Baxter Arena as it continues its season-opening 10-game homestand. Both games are scheduled to start at 7:07 p.m.
