
Cross Country Set for Summit League Championships

TULSA, Okla. - The Mavericks head to the Summit League Championships this weekend to continue the 2021 cross country slate. The 2021 Summit League Cross Country Championships will take place Saturday, Oct. 30 at Holland Hall in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Nine women's teams will compete and the race begins at 11 a.m.

Season In Review
Maya Nachtigal led the Mavericks in all the regular season meets this season. Nachtigal ran a season-best time of 18:37.3 in the Greeno/Dirksen 5k Invite on Sept. 18. It also marked her highest finish at 40th. She posted a time of 19:29.19 at the Augustana Twilight in Omaha's season opener. Her best 6k time of the season and career came at the Gans Creek Invitational on Oct. 1. She placed 90th with a time of 23:17.2.
The Mavericks had successful weekends at the Gans Creek Invitational at the Bradley Pink Classic.
In addition to Nachtigal at Gans Creek, three other Mavericks ran personal records. Danielle Howard finished in 109th place with a time of 23:49.5 for a new personal best. Emily Robles and Paige Blackford also notched personal records. Robles ran a time of 2#:55.7 to finish in 115th. Her time also landed on the Division I records list sitting 29th in the books. Blackford's time of 24:11.9 marked the final PR and she finished in 122nd place.
At the Bradley Pink Classic, Nachtigal's time of 22:34.0 led Omaha and was the 13th best time on the program's 5k list. Robles finished second for the Mavericks with a time of 23:37.1 landing 26th all-time, while Howard found herself ranked 26th all-time with a time of 23:43.7. In addidtion to the program records, Madeline Yardley posted a personal record with a time of 24:17.5.
Running at the Championships for the Mavericks are Blackford, Howard, Nachtigal, Robles, Joanna Topham, and Yardley.
