Omaha Now Ranked in Both National Polls

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha remained No. 17 in the first USCHO.com poll of the regular season following its opening weekend split with fellow 2021 NCAA tournament qualifier Lake Superior State at Baxter Arena.
The Mavericks (1-1) also entered the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll for the first time Monday at No. 15. They shut out the Lakers 3-0 Sunday after seeing a late lead slip away in a 4-3 overtime loss on Saturday night.
Omaha received 189 points in the poll of 50 voters from across the country in the USCHO.com ratings. It garnered 39 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.
Five National Collegiate Hockey Conference teams are rated in both polls this week, led by St. Cloud State. The Huskies remained at No. 2 in the USCHO.com poll and took over the top spot in the other.
Minnesota State swept reigning national champion and preseason No. 1 UMass in a road series over the weekend, which opened up the top spot in both polls.
Omaha returns to action this weekend when it plays host to Maine at 7:07 p.m. Friday.
