
Mavericks In Sixth At The Stampede At The Creek

Elkhorn, Neb.- The Omaha women's golf team is in 6th place after the first two rounds at the Stampede at the Creek on Monday.
Omaha scored 315 as a team in round one. Paired with 318 in round two, the Mavericks finish the day with a score of 633. Leading the tournament with a score of 600 is North Dakota State. Behind them in a tie for second with 603 are Weber State and Creighton.
Jinna Boonbumroongsuk leads Omaha with a score of 156. The sophomore shot three over in the first round and nine over in the second, placing her 20th on the individual leaderboard.
Sydney Taake is in second on the team after scoring 80 and 78 in the first two rounds. The freshman is in 21st place with a day one total of 158.
Mandi Granato scored 159 over two rounds, scoring 78 and 81. The junior currently sits in 21st place.
Sophomore Mika Miyata shot ten over in the first and six over in the second. She finishes the first day with a score of 160, good for 26th place among all golfers.
Zora Gittens shot matching 85's in the first two rounds. The senior sits in 40th place on the leaderboard with a two round total of 170.
The last four golfers all play individually in this tournament. Senior Cassidy Ulrich scored 89 in the first round and 83 in the second. She ends the first day with a total of 172.
Izzi Puk finishes with 174. The junior scored 86 in the first round and 88 in the second round.
Freshmen Emma Kirvan and Maddie Simon shot 168 and 169, respectively. Kirvan scored 83 in the first round to go with 85 in the second, and Simon shot 90 in the first, adding 79 in the second.
The final round of golf at Indian Creek begins at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Elkhorn.
