Men's Basketball Inks Two On Signing Day

Omaha, Neb.- Omaha men's basketball head coach Derrin Hansen announced today the signing of two student-athletes for the 2022-23 season on National Signing Day.
The two men both come from preparatory high schools, where both have been earning varsity basketball letters since their freshman seasons.
Luke Jungers | Forward | Omaha, Neb. | Creighton Prep
Standing 6-9 and weighing 210-pounds, Jungers has been recording varsity minutes at Creighton Prep since freshman year. As a sophomore he helped his team to a district championship, and repeated that effort in his junior season. Averaging over nine points and four rebounds per game in just over two seasons, Jungers looks to lead the Junior Jays to a third straight state tournament appearance in his senior year.
Hansen on Jungers: "We're extremely excited to add another student athlete from Creighton Prep. Luke comes from an extensive line of players we've had from there. He's had an excellent high school career, and at the AAU level. His size at 6'9, his ability to shoot to the arc, and his willingness to hustle, rebound, and be a great teammate, are qualities that we love on our team. We look forward to working with him beginning next summer."
Jungers on Omaha: "Playing college basketball has always been a dream of mine. I am appreciative of the coaches at Omaha who have given me the opportunity to do that. I really feel like I am going to be a great fit into the Omaha style of play. I think I can help contribute to a program on the rise and be a part of the school's first NCAA tournament appearance. I am looking forward to joining the returning players, continuing a winning culture and one of hard work."
Tony Osburn | Guard | Fairfax, Mo. | Mound City
Coming in at 6-2, 180 pounds, Osburn has been racking up the awards since freshman season. With his senior year about to begin, Osburn earned all-conference, all-district, and all-state honors each of his first three seasons. The point guard was also named the Missouri Boys Basketball Player of the Year in his sophomore and junior seasons. He already is in the 2,000-point club at Mound City, while helping the team to three straight district championships and a state runner-up last year.
Hansen on Osburn: "Tony has had an excellent prep career, with a chance to score over 3,000 points, and a chance to lead Mound City to another terrific year. He can play multiple guard positions, which gives us versatility on how we play. Tough and cerebral is a great combination for guards in our system. Tony is a great teammate, always thinking team first. I can't wait to work with Tony beginning next summer."
Osburn on Omaha: "I chose Omaha because it's a special environment; it feels like home. I wanted a place that was close to my family, and that I felt I could make an impact. I'm excited to learn from Coach Hansen and his staff and develop my skills with their help."
