Game at Kauffman Stadium Headlines 2022 Schedule

A February swing through California and two March games, including one at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, against national power Arkansas highlight the early portion of the Omaha baseball schedule.
Coach Evan Porter released the full schedule for the Mavericks Friday. Omaha opens its season on Feb. 18 at San Jose State then faces UCLA and USC before returning from California. The Mavericks then play a single game at Arkansas on March 2 before opening their home slate against Valparaiso on March 4.
On March 23, Omaha will meet the Razorbacks again at Kauffman, the home of the Kansas City Royals, in their final nonconference game before opening its Summit League season at home against St. Thomas.
"We're thrilled about the opportunity to play a prestigious team like Arkansas in a Major League stadium," Porter said. "It's going to be really good for our program and give our guys an experience that, we feel, is really unparalleled at the college level – to play one of the best at an MLB stadium."
The Mavericks also have road games at Nebraska, Creighton, Penn State, Minnesota, Kansas and Kansas State during nonconference play. Additionally, they will play host to Creighton (March 8), Kansas State (March 15), Nebraska (April 6) and Kansas (May 4) for single midweek games at Tal Anderson Field.
"We look forward to our 2022 schedule taking us all around the country," Porter said. "Our challenging nonconference schedule will help us prepare for another competitive season in the Summit League."
Omaha's conference-opening series with league newcomer St. Thomas takes place from March 25-27. The Mavericks then go to Oral Roberts before hosting new Summit affiliate member Northern Colorado.
With seven teams now in the conference for baseball, teams will no longer play two series against each foe. The Mavericks do have home and away series against St. Thomas and Oral Roberts. They won't travel to Northern Colorado and South Dakota State or host Western Illinois and North Dakota State in 2022.
Omaha wraps up its regular season against St. Thomas from May 19-21. The Summit League Tournament will be hosted by reigning champion Oral Roberts in Tulsa, Okla., from May 25-28.
