Ward Named Senior CLASS Award Candidate

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha forward Taylor Ward is a candidate for the 2021-22 Senior CLASS Award.
The senior from Kelowna, B.C., is one of 20 hockey student-athletes being considered for the honor that recognizes excellence in community, classroom, character and competition. The list will be narrowed to 10 finalists later in the season. The winner will be announced during the 2022 Frozen Four in April.
The Senior CLASS Award – CLASS is an acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School – focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages leadership within players' communities.
Ward, an assistant captain for the Mavericks for the second consecutive season, ranks among the national scoring leaders. Omaha's right wing was named the national player of the month for October.
He is one of two National Collegiate Hockey Conference players among the 20 candidates for the Senior CLASS Award. Once that list is trimmed to 10 finalists, the official ballot will be sent to media, coaches and fans, who will then select the student-athlete who best exemplifies the award's four Cs.
