Burkhardt Earns Player of the Week Accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Lexi Burkhardt was tabbed the Summit League Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon. It marks her first weekly career honor.
The junior outfielder hit .538 over Omaha's five-game slate at the Michelle Short Memorial Classic at Central Arkansas. She finished with seven hits, three RBI, three runs scored, and a .769 slugging percentage.
Burkhardt is on a five-game hitting streak with at least one hit in each game from this past weekend. She tallied Omaha's only run vs. Central Arkansas with a solo homer. She went 2-for-2 on Feb. 25 vs. Pine Bluff with a run and RBI in the 8-0 win.
On Feb. 26, Burkhardt tallied a hit in each game vs. Pine-Bluff and Missouri State. The next day vs. Missouri State, Burkhardt finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and run.
Burkhardt and the Mavericks will be back in action March 5-7 at the Oklahoma State/Tulsa Invitational with another five-game tournament.
