Mavericks Open Outdoor Season at Missouri

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha track & field team begins its outdoor season at the Mizzou Spring Opener on Friday and Saturday, March 19-20.
Competition begins Friday at 3:30 p.m. and on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. from Walton Stadium in Columbia, Mo.
The Mavericks wrapped up their indoor season three weeks ago at the Summit League Championships. They have been picked to finish seven in the Summit during the outdoor season in the annual preseason coaches' poll.
Junior Sheridan Rodriguez, who was named an athlete to watch in the preseason poll, was Omaha's top finisher in the indoor championships, taking second in the high jump and earning All-Summit honors with a mark of 5-06.
Sophomore Carrie Simonson also scored for the Mavericks in the indoor championships, finishing eighth in the 200 meters with a time of 25.74.
Freshman Taylor Ramaekers finished eighth in the pentathlon with a lifetime best score of 3,138.
Following the meet at Mizzou, the Mavericks compete closer to home at the Blue Oval Invitational at Drake on Saturday, March 27.
