Freshman Brock Bremer was named the NCHC Rookie of the Month for earning four goals and five assists during seven games in February.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Omaha hockey freshman Brock Bremer has been named the NCHC Rookie of the Month for February.
He is the first Maverick to earn a monthly award from the NCHC this season.
Bremer led all Omaha players in scoring during the month of February with four goals and five assists for nine points while playing in all seven games.
Bremer was scoreless in his first game of the month but finished even with one shot in a 3-1 loss at Denver. The next night, he had two assists, both of them primary, including the setup of the game-winning goal in a 5-4 come-from-behind overtime win over the Pioneers. In that game, he finished +1.
The following weekend, Bremer tied a school record with five points, including his first career hat trick, in a 7-1 win at home over Colorado College. He finished the night +3 with a game-high seven shots on goal. The next night, he was even with three shots in a 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Tigers.
At No. 1 North Dakota the following weekend, Bremer managed an assist over two games as the Mavericks were swept, 4-1 and 7-1. He closed the month with a goal on six shots and a +1 rating in a 4-2 loss to the Fighting Hawks at home.
The nine-point month helped the native of Forest Lake, Minn. move into fifth in freshman scoring in the NCHC with 13 points in 22 games. He leads all UNO freshman in scoring and is sixth overall in team scoring.
Bremer and the No. 12 Mavericks will finish the regular season on Friday, March 5 when they visit No. 1 North Dakota for a single game.
