Mar 2, 2021 | Men's Golf
BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. – The Omaha men's golf team had its first tournament of the spring season shortened due to weather.
The final round of the Gulf Coast Collegiate hosted by the University of New Orleans and Nicholls State was scrubbed due to rain. The tournament was officially concluded after two rounds even though players were in the process of playing the third round.
The Mavericks finished in eighth place in the 12-team field with a score of 615. Southeastern Louisiana and Tennessee Martin tied for first with scores of 589. Morehead State was third at 596.
Josh Peters was Omaha's top finisher. He shot rounds of 75 and 74 to put him at 149, good for a tie for 11th in the 67-player field.
The Mavericks have a week off before heading to Phoenix, Ariz. to take part in the Grand Canyon Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, March 15-16.
