Primeau, Scanlin and Saville Earns NCHC All-Conference Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Junior forward Chayse Primeau has been named the to the NCHC All-Conference Second Team, it was announced on Monday.
Primeau is the Mavericks' leading scorer and is tied for fifth in NCHC scoring with 23 points in 24 games. He has earned nine goals and 14 assists for 23 points, all career highs. It is the first all-conference honor for the native of Margate City, N.J.
Primeau is the eighth Maverick to earn all-conference first or second team accolades.
In addition, sophomore defenseman Brandon Scanlin and sophomore goaltender Isaiah Saville earned Honorable Mention All-NCHC recognition. Scanlin ranks fifth in team scoring, leads all UNO defensemen and is fourth among NCHC d'men with 16 points, a career high. Last season, the native of Hamilton, Ontario was a member of the NCHC All-Rookie Team. Saville is tied for second in the NCHC with a career best 12 wins in 22 appearances this season. He is sixth in the NCHC with a 2.75 goals-against average and ranks third with a .914 save percentage. The native of Anchorage, Alaska also has posted one shutout.
In all, 14 Mavericks have been named either all-conference first team, second team or honorable mention since the first season in 2013-14.
Voting was conducted by the eight head coaches at each institution and eight media members, one covering each member school. Coaches and media voted for six forwards, four defensemen and two goaltenders, awarding first-team votes for six players (three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender) and second-team votes for the other six selections. Three points were awarded for a first-team vote while one point was awarded for a second-team vote, with the most points at each position earning the honors. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players, making 15 first-place votes the maximum a player can receive.
The NCHC will announce its Sportsmanship Award and Three Stars Award winners on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the five individual positional playing awards will be announced, while Thursday's awards announcement will include the Herb Brooks Coach of the Year, NCHC Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and the NCHC Senior Scholar-Athlete Award.
