Four Mavericks Garner All-Summit Recognition

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Four members of the Omaha volleyball team received All-Summit League honors, the league office announced on Thursday morning.
Claire Mountjoy was named Defensive Player of the Year and All-Summit Honorable Mention while Sadie Limback and Anna Blaschko were selected All-Summit First Team. Sami Clarkson also earned a spot on the All-Summit Honorable Mention.
Mountjoy becomes the second Maverick to be named Defensive Player of Year after ranking third in the Summit League with 4.93 digs per set and 340 total digs. The Omaha native reached 20 or more digs in eight matches this season, including a season-high 32 digs vs. Oral Roberts.
Limback was selected to the All-Summit First Team after a dominant performance this season. The Waverly, Mo., native became the first player in Summit League history to be named Summit League Offensive Player of the Week four weeks in a row. Limback finished the regular season as the league leader with a .412 hitting percentage while third in kills and kills per set. Limback is the only Summit League player to have 25 or more kills in three matches this season.
Blaschko was chosen to the All-Summit First Team for the second consecutive season after totaling 167 kills and 2.42 kills per set this season. The Shakopee, Minn., native is sixth in the league with a .299 hitting percentage and tallied 10 or more kills in nine matches this season, including a season-high 18 kills in a four-set win at Western Illinois.
Clarkson finished the regular season as the league leader with 10.61 assists per set. The Omaha native is second in the league with 732 assists and had 60 assists in a win at North Dakota State, the most assists in a single match by a Summit League player this season. Clarkson tallied nine double-doubles on the year and had nine matches with 40 or more assists, including three matches with at least 50 assists.
