OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha track & field team will bring its multi-event athletes to the KT Woodman Multis at Wichita State on Wednesday and Thursday, April 14-15.
Competition begins with the first four events of the heptathlon on Wednesday at 1 p.m. and concludes with the final three on Thursday at 11:45 a.m. at Cessna Stadium.
This will be the first heptathlon for the multi-event athletes this spring. Those competing include senior Jaycee Schettler and freshmen Roxy Denton, Kylie Johnson and Taylor Ramaekers. All four competed in the pentathlon indoors, setting lifetime bests this past winter. Ramaekers scored for the Mavericks, taking eighth at the Summit League Championships.
The Mavericks were originally set to compete in the Loper Invitational at Nebraska-Kearney on Friday as well but due to a schedule change, the meet has been dropped from the schedule.
The full team will return to action on Friday, April 23 at the Kip Janvrin Open at Simpson College.
