SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sophomore Richie Holetz has been named the Summit League Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Holetz earned his second win of the season in Omaha's 7-0 victory in game three vs. North Dakota State on Saturday afternoon.
The Edina, Minn., native tossed six shutout innings while only allowing two hits.
Holetz struck out six Bison hitters, marking the fifth consecutive start with at least five strikeouts for the sophomore.
The Mavericks continue Summit League play this weekend as Omaha ventures to Brookings, S.D., for a four-game series at South Dakota State. First pitch of a Friday doubleheader between Omaha and the Jackrabbits is set for 12 p.m. while the two teams take the diamond on Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m.
