Pile Earns Third Straight Academic All-League Award

OMAHA, Neb. – Senior Matt Pile has been named to the 2020-21 Summit League Academic All-League Team, the league office announced Wednesday. Pile was among five student-athletes selected to this year's team, which is based on academic and athletic performances this past season.
Pile was one of three players who are repeat honorees, and this marks his third consecutive Academic All-Summit award.
Also a two-time Academic All-American, Pile carries a 3.95 grade-point average with a major in chemistry. He is a member of the UNO Chancellor's List and Dean's List and the Summit League's Academic Honor Roll and Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence, as well as the NABC Honors Court.
In his senior campaign, the Wichita, Kan., native averaged 10.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 55.3%. Pile also led the league in blocks.
To be eligible for the Academic All-League Team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of his team's competitions.
