OMAHA, Neb. – Senior Breyden Eckhout has been named to the 2021 Summit League Academic All-League Team, the league office announced Wednesday. Eckhout was among nine student-athletes selected to this year's team, which is based on academic and athletic performances this past season.

Eckhout was one of two players who are repeat honorees, appearing on the list for the second consecutive season.

In his senior campaign, Eckhout appeared in 34 games while making 32 starts. The Amherst, Neb., native hit .245 with eight doubles, two home runs and 11 RBI. Eckhout had seven multi-hit games and scored 20 runs on the season.

To be eligible for the Academic All-League Team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions, except pitchers who must have participated in 20 percent of their team's total contests.
