OMAHA, Neb. – Incoming freshman Cameron Berg was selected in the fourth round (125th overall) by the New York Islanders in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday afternoon.
"It was unreal seeing my named called," said Berg. "It's an opportunity to help me achieve my dream of playing hockey at the highest level."
The incoming freshman earned All-USHL Third Team honors last season with Muskegon after garnering 58 points in 51 games, finishing second among Muskegon scorers and seventh in the league scoring race with 27 goals on the season.
In 2019-20, Berg recorded four points (two goals, two assists) in 14 games with the Omaha Lancers before playing the last 32 games with Muskegon. Berg had 30 points (18 goals, 12 assists) in the 32-game stretch with the Lumberjacks.
