Mavericks Earn NABC Team Academic Excellence Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Omaha men's basketball team has earned its third straight Team Academic Excellence Award presented by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), the organization announced Wednesday.
The award recognizes outstanding achievement by teams with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better for the 2020-21 academic year. All teams in NCAA Divisions I, II and III, the NAIA and NJCAA are eligible.
The Mavericks combined for a 3.26 team GPA to receive the recognition.
The Team Academic Excellence Award is Omaha's fourth since the honor's creation seven years ago, joining the 2013-14, 2018-19 and 2019-20 Maverick squads.
