Mavericks Selected Fifth In NCHC Preseason Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Omaha Mavericks were tabbed fifth in the NCHC Preseason Poll, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
The rankings come from local media members from each school, as well as select national media that cover the conference.
Omaha received 114 points falling between Denver in the fourth spot with 123 points and one first place vote and Western Michigan in sixth place with 105 points. Miami (45 points) and Colorado College (33 points) round out the bottom of the poll.
St. Cloud State was tabbed the preseason favorite to hoist the Penrose Cup with 20 of the 25 first place votes and 195 points. Minnesota Duluth raked in 143 points and three first place votes to sit second in the ranks, while North Dakota sits third with 142 points and one first place vote.
NCHC Media Day takes place on Thursday, Sept. 16 at Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minn., the home of the 2022 NCHC Frozen Faceoff.
