
Mavericks Head to SIUE For The Derek Dolenc Invitational

Omaha, NEB.- The Mavericks return to action this week at the Derek Dolenc invitational at SIUE on Monday and Tuesday, September 27-28.
A shotgun start at 8:15 on Monday in Madison, Illinois commences the first two rounds of play. The final round will be Tuesday morning. The field consists of fourteen teams, including the host SIUE, Austin Peay, Bradley, Chicago State, Detroit Mercy, Eastern Illinois, Green Bay, Missouri State, Murray State, New Orleans, South Dakota, UT Martin, Weber State and Iowa (individuals only). The tournament is held at Gateway National Golf Links, a par-71 course of 7,016 yards.
This will be Omaha's second 54-hole tournament of the year. The Mavericks finished 13th at the K-State Wildcat Invitational with a team score of 942. Mathew Halvorson, Josh Peters, Carter Doose, Phoomintr Kaewvichien, and Noah Hartman fill the line up for Omaha, Christopher Atkinson will be golfing individually.
Senior Mathew Halvorson led Omaha in scoring with 227 at Kansas State, finishing in a tie for 31st place on the individual leader board.
Senior Noah Hartman tied for 56th place with a score of 237 in Manhattan.
Playing individually, the sophomore Carter Doose finished in a tie for 38th place with a three round score of 229. He is in the Mavericks line up for this invitational.
Juniors Josh Peters and Phoomintr Kaewvichien make their first appearance of the fall season.
Playing individually and making his first appearance for Omaha is freshman Christopher Atkinson.
This is the Mavericks last road trip before the home invitational Oct 4-5.
