
Mavericks Finish Day One At Derek Dolenc Invite

Madison, ILL - The Mavericks golf team sits in thirteenth place at the SIUE Derek Dolenc invitational after Monday's first two rounds.
In the first round, Omaha shot a team score of 305. Paired with a 298 in round two, the Mavericks finished the day with a total score of 603. Leading the tournament with a two-round score of 566 is UT-Martin. In second is Weber State with 573, followed by Austin Peay with 580.
Senior Mathew Halvorson shot three over in round one for a score of 74. With a 73 in round two, he leads the Mavericks and is in a tie for 22nd place with a day one total of 147.
Junior Josh Peters recorded a 77 in round one. He finished round two with a 75, and sits tied in 49th with a total score of 152 on the day. In his first tournament of the season, Peters is tied for second place on the team.
Sophomore Carter Doose finished the first round eight over. Shooting two over in the second round with a 73, he finishes the day tied for second on the team and tied for 49th place on the individual leader board with a score of 152 through two rounds.
Senior Noah Hartman shot seven over in the first round and six over in the second for a two-round total of 155. After day one, he sits tied for 65th place.
Junior Phoomintr Kaewvichien shot four over for a first round score of 76. He shot ten over in the second for a two-round total of 157 in his first tournament of the season. He is tied for 71st on the individual leader board.
Golfing individually, Christopher Atkinson scored a 73 in the first round shooting two over. Shooting one over in the second round for a score of 72, his day one total is 145. In the freshman's first collegiate tournament, he currently sits in a tie for 17th place.
The final round of the Derek Dolenc invitational will be at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday morning.
