Taake Takes Lead After Round One

Hollister, Mo.- The Omaha women's golf team completed round one of the Ozarks National Invitational hosted by Missouri State on Monday.Â
The Mavericks ended the first round with a team score of 316. They share ninth place with Bradley, who also recorded a score of 316. Wichita State finished the first round on top with a total score of 302.Â
On the individual leaderboard, Sydney Taake sits at the top. The sophomore posted a 71 (-1) in the first round, matching the fifth-best round score in program history. The Papillion, Neb, native bogeyed two holes in the first round, using three birdies to set the lowest round score of her career. Taake will begin round two with a two-stroke lead over Wichita State's Megan Lucas and Drake's Kristen Giles, who finished round one with scores of 73 (+1).Â
Nicole Hansen and Macarena Garcia ended the first round with scores of 80 and 81, respectively. Hansen shares 42nd place, and Garcia is tied for 47th place.Â
Emily Karmazin and Mika Miyata recorded scores of 84 and 85 in the first round. Karmazin holds 62nd place and Miyata shares 63rd overall.Â
