Three Ink With Women's Soccer

OMAHA, Neb. - Head women's soccer coach Tim Walters announced the signing of three student-athletes on National Signing Day. One Nebraska native joins the squad, while two are from out of state.
"While there will still be a few additions to this class, only losing one senior has allowed us to be very specific with what we were looking for in our 2023 recruiting class," said Walters. "I think we've found three players who will love playing for Omaha and will all be able to have an immediate impact on our program going forward. We're excited to get this group here and integrate them into the squad as we look forward to the 2023 season."
Jasmyn Brown | Defender | Andover, Kan. | Andover Central
Brown is a letterwinner out of Andover Central and played under head coach Stephanie Garcia. She also played club ball under Daouda Kante for the Kansas Rush GA 05 team in the Girls Academy League.
Walters on Brown: "Jasmyn will be able to fill a couple of roles for us. She is a left-footed defender who reads the game very well. She can play as a left sided ball playing center back or get forward more as a left back. She's a tough defender, and we're looking forward to adding her to the group."
Brown on Omaha: "I chose to become a Maverick because of the culture and passionate environment Omaha has within its athletic and academic programs. I feel as if I fit in the Omaha environment, and I am excited to become a Maverick!"
Keara Chaffee | Midfielder | Blair, Neb. | Blair
Chaffee is a letterwinner out of Blair where she played under head coach Nick Hall. In her sophomore season, Chaffee led the team with 20 goals and 10 assists over 13 games played. She was the team and offensive MVP. Chaffee earned Eastern Midland All-Conference First Team accolades and was an All-State Honorable Mention. Chaffee also played for the Gretna Elite Academy ECNL team under head coach Chad Gleckler. She was the 2021-22 ENCL Midwest First Team All-Conference. Through 2019-22 the team was a national qualifier.
Walters on Chaffee: "I am really happy to be adding Keara as an early graduate this spring. She is a fearless competitor who loves the game, crafty on the ball, and has the engine to match. She loves to train and improve every day and has a nose for goal from the midfield. She's going to be a great addition to our program."
Chaffee on Omaha: "I chose Omaha because of the great coaching staff, team culture, and facilities. It is a place where I believe I can do well as both a player and a student. I can't wait to compete for more Summit League Championships while being close to home! Go Mavs!"
Alyssa Kellar | Midfielder | Treynor, Iowa | Treynor
Kellar is a transfer from Iowa and joining the Mavericks this spring semester. Prior to Iowa, Kellar played ay Trenyor High School. She is a three-time All-Conference, All-District, and All-State selection. As a senior, Kellar helped lead her team to state for the first time in program history. The team won conference championships in her freshman and sophomore seasons.
Walters on Kellar: "We're really happy to have Alyssa joining us at semester. I was able to coach Alyssa at the club level before she went off to Iowa, and I really enjoyed the way she trained everyday. She's very versatile and can play any position in the front six. I love her ability to be crafty on the ball and retain possession for the team. Most importantly, she has a fantastic work rate and which will fit in well with our group"
Kellar on Omaha: "I chose Omaha because of the great academics, campus life, and the opportunity to continue competing at a high level. I'm excited to be able to play with a talented group of girls under a great coaching staff all while being close to home!"
