Mavericks Take on the Mean Green

The Basics
The Mavericks head to North Texas to take on the Mean Green Saturday night. Tipoff is 5 p.m. at The Super Pit. Omaha has won two of its last three games, while North Texas had a four-game win streak going before its loss to UNCW. Both teams look to rebound this weekend.

• Omaha played at Mississippi State Monday to tipoff this week's action. Frankie Fidler and Tony Osburn scored 10 points each to lead the Maverick offense.
• Osburn was 4-of-5 from the field and 2of-2 from the line. His 10 points marked a season-high and the first time the freshman guard recorded double-figures this season.

• After another pair of games in double-figures vs. ULM and Souther, Sutton is tied with Fidler as the team's leading scorer with 11.0 points per game. They both rank 18th in the Summit League.
Scouting the North Texas Mean Green
The Mean Green are 5-2 ahead of Saturday's meeting. They were riding a four-game win streak before UNC Wilmington snuck out a 55-51 win vs. North Texas on Nov. 27 in the Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Challenge. The Mean Green had wins vs. Long Beach State, San Jose State, Paul Quinn, and Fresno State during that stretch.
Tylor Perry leads the North Texas offense with 19.0 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field. Perry erupted for a 35-point career performance vs. San Jose State. He was 9-of-12 from the field and shot perfectly from long range, 7-of-7. The senior guard also sunk 10 from the charity stripe.
Head coach Grant McCasland is in his sixth season leading the Mean Green. He has a 109-60 record at the helm. His coaching career spans nine total years and he has over 180 career wins.
