
Mavericks Take Tenth At Joust At Goose Creek

Jurupa Valley, Calif.- The Omaha men's golf team finishes the Joust at Goose Creek in 10th place.Â
Omaha shot 902 as a team through 36 holes, scoring 302 in round three. They fall just short of Dixie State, who takes ninth with 298. Weber State takes first place in the team rankings, finishing with a total score of 870.Â
Kurtis Rodriguez ends in first place on the team and earns a share of fifth place overall. The freshman shot an even 71 in the third round for a three-day total of 216. Rodriguez birdied 11 holes throughout the two-day event.Â
Josh Peters finishes two strokes behind Rodriguez with a total score of 218. The junior shot three-over in round three, earning a share of 10th place.Â
Senior Mathew Halvorson and Sophomore Carter Doose matched scores of 234 for the tournament, sharing 68th place on the leaderboard. Halvorson finished the third round with a 78, and Doose was one stroke off him with a 79.Â
Junior Josh Bartels withdrew from the Joust after suffering an injury 11 holes into the first round. Â
The Mavericks head to Houston for the Colin Montgomerie Invitational hosted by Houston Baptist for their next tournament. Tee time in Texas is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, March 7-8.Â
