Mavericks Lead NCHC All-Academic Team

The NCHC named a 136 players to it Academic All-Conference Team by the NCHC on Wednesday, with 73 of those being tabbed Distinguished Scholar-Athletes. Both were records for the ninth-year league.
Omaha led the way among the eight conference schools, with nearly every one of its eligible players honored by the league. It and Western Michigan placed a league-high 21 players on the Academic All-Conference Team. And Omaha has 14 Distinguished Scholar-Athletes, the most of any NCHC school.
A student-athlete must have a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average to receive Academic All-Conference honors. Distinguished Scholar-Athletes are those on the Academic Team with a GPA of 3.5 or better.
Freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible, due to not having a full year at their current school.
